Three places you can find scholarly sources:

Search Everything

  1. Go to the library homepage
  2. Enter your search terms in "Search Everything" box - this allows you to search multiple databases and our catalog at once.
  3. On the left, find the "Scholarly (Peer-reviewed) Journals" button and select it
  4. The results you see are usually scholarly but avoid books reviews, they are not scholarly but may still appear

Specific Databases

  1. Go to our A-Z Database listing
  2. In the top left where it says "All Subjects", select the subject area you are searching
  3. You will see a list of the best databases for your topic
  4. Choose a database and begin searching it (there may be a "Scholarly Journal" button in that database)

Google Scholar

  1. Go to Google Scholar
  2. Enter your search terms
  3. The results you see should be scholarly, but check that they are written by an expert and have citations/references
