Search Everything

Search Everything searches most databases, but not all

From the Library Homepage

  1. Select the Search Everything tab
  2. Search in the Search Everything box for keywords from your topic or from the article if you already know the article
  3. The left hand side of the page has options to limit your search including these options
    • Peer Reviewed Journals - show only scholarly sources
    • Academic Journals - show only journal articles
    • Publication Date - shows only articles within the selected date range
    • Subject - shows only articles on these topics
  4. To access the full-text article, select PDF Full-text below the article you want to view

Databases

  • Particular databases sometimes have special search features that Search Everything doesn't have
  • Most databases are subject specific (EX: MedLine database has medical articles, but not religion articles)
  • You can find out which database to use from a research guide
    1. Find a research guide on your subject, topic, or class at the above link
    2. The guide will list the best databases for that subject
    3. Select one of the databases and begin searching
    4. Narrowing search results will be similar to the process for Search Everything - options on the left
